Poem

The Lost Navigator

Star of the night,

Shiny and bright.

High and gemmy,

Could you guide me?

Through this dark sea,

I cannot see,

You, far away,

Show me the way.

Lost in my trip,

Please guide my ship,

You, star of night,

Lighten my sight.

About

Astronomical navigation has always been a deep passion of mine. The notion of intrepid explorers crossing vast oceans with nothing but the stars to guide them never ceases to amaze me. One evening, I found myself captivated by a particular shining star, contemplating how navigators of old must have used their sextants to chart a course using such celestial bodies. It was this experience that inspired me to write the following poem.
